Fund Raising With Your Popcorn Machine

More and more schools are making program cuts to stay afloat these days. Many sports and music and art programs are barely hanging on from the lack of financial support that they once enjoyed.

Much of the finanial shortfall is being made up by Booster clubs, PTAs, parents and students themselves. They’re working to keep some of these vital programs alive in any way that they can. Sporting equipment, musical instruments, art instruction and other necessities can cost thousands and thousands of dollars. This cost can result in the unthinkable: athletic, music and art programs get cancelled and the lessons in sportsmanship, determination and team effort are lost.

Communities and school organizations are getting creative in their efforts to raise funds for these activities. A simple and affordable way to raise money for school acitivities is with a commercial popcorn machine.

Commercial popcorn machines are relatively inexpensive to purchase and can be operated for only pennies per serving. The rest is pure profit.  Not only that but popcorn is a healthy snack that almost everyone loves. The best thing about raising money with popcorn is that the wafting scent of freshly popped popcorn sells itself. Potential customers won’t need arrows or signs or balloons in order to find you. They’ll only have to follow theri noses.

The cost for popcorn and oil and seasoning and bags is practically nothing. You’ll find that crowds will draw near to your red and white striped machine as soon as the popping begins. The sound and smell of popping corn is a natural attraction all its own. You’ll keep the team and band in uniform and have money left over by selling bags of popcorn at a low price that everyone can afford. Not only will your customers enjoy a delicious snack, they’ll be happy to know that they are helping the kids.

Where Can You Use Your Commercial Popcorn Machine? There are countless events at which you can use your popcorn machine; sporting events, theater events, parent teacher nights, recitals, open houses, graduations and you name it. Most school administrators will be happy to give permission when you’re helping with the school’s finances. Who knows, they may be willing to help pay for the supplies.

You can also raise money at community events, shows and fairs. Let your imagination run wild. Often, people do not even realize school programs are at risk until it is too late. You’ll bring needed attention to your plight when you’re seen at community events and in the public eye. This may help you to get even more support. Many of your neighbors will want to lend a hand, especially if it means that they get a bag of freshly popped popcorn as a thank you.
